Conservatives 'ashamed of their own budget'

There was shock at last nights's council meeting, when the Conservatives refused to reveal details of their budget proposals.

Conservative councillors proposed savage cuts to council services, but would not give copies of their proposals, so councillors, staff and residents have been kept in the dark.

Abbots Langley councillor Matthew Bedford, Deputy Leader of the Council, said "The Tories must be ashamed of their own Budget. Why else are they not prepared to let local people know their detailed plans? Do their figures not add up, or are they worried about the effect of the huge cuts they have proposed?"

The Conservatives have been challenged to produce their figures before the next council meeting.
