Conservatives block Kings Langley flood prevention

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 16th Apr 2007

Conservatives at County Hall have blocked a plan to reduce flooding at the bottom of Toms Lane, where it meets Water Lane, Primrose Hill and Station Road. to prevent flooding and other problems during heavy rain, a plan was designed by highways engineers.

However the plan has been blocked by the Conservatives at County Hall, who say that problem is not important enough to have money spent on it!

Cllr Joy Mann, who spoke in favour of the work at a recent Highways panel meeting said, "I cannot believe that the Conservative councillors have blocked this work. Local residents know just how bad the roads can get and what a mess they are left in after a period of heavy rain. I will keep trying to get some alleviation work carried out here".
