Appeal against Trowley Rise planning refusal12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 26th Jun 2007 An appeal has bee made to the Secretary of State against Three Rivers refusal of planning permission on the corner of Trowley Rise and Cherry Hollow. The plan was to demolish 31 Trowley Rise and replace it with three terraced houses with accommodation in the roofspace, and a pair of two storey semi-detached properties. The application was refused by Three Rivers for the following reason: "The proposed development would result in an unsatisfactory form of development which would cause demonstrable harm to the character of the area and be detrimental to the residential amenities of adjoining occupiers. It fails to meet the requirements of Policy H14, GEN 3 and Appendix 2 of the Three Rivers Local Plan 1996 -2011 in that it results in a cramped form of development unable to maintain the particular character of the area in the vicinity of the site in terms of building design, plot size, plot width, garden depths, spacing around buildings, frontage building line, layout and parking layouts and would have insufficient refuse provision." The appeal will be decided by way of an Informal Hearing. The hearing will be held at Three Rivers House, Rickmansworth in 6-9 months time. Residents wanting to comment on the appeal should send three copies to the Planning Inspectorate, Room 301 Kite Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN, quoting APP/P1940/A/07/2045454/NWF, by 20th July 2008.
