Independent survey shows residents pleased with council services

A detailed, nationwide survey by the independent polling organisation MORI has said that Three Rivers is 'outperforming national trends'.

Three Rivers satisfaction ratings were amongst the best in the country, and in the top two in Hertfordshire. Conservative-run Dacorum (Kings Langley and Hemel Hempstead) and Hertsmere (Bushey and Borehamwood) came bottom.

Three Rivers scored particularly well when residents were asked whether they thought the council provides value for money. The council also came top for being a place where residents felt they could influence decision-making.

Cllr Matthew Bedford said "We are delighted that residents have a generally positive view of the Council. But of course there are always areas where we can do better, and we will continue to work towards high-quality services that people want and are delivered efficiently."

Asked what most needs improving, the top answers across Three Rivers were 'roads and pavements' and 'activities for teenagers'. Cllr Sara Bedford said, "Three Rivers will continue to press the Conservative-run Herts County Council to repair our roads properly. At a time when the County Council have closed the Abbots Langley youth club, Three Rivers is investing in facilities for young people, including the new sports centre at Woodside".
