Enforcement action at the rear of 152 Toms Lane

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 4th Sep 2007

The county council has issued 2 enforcement notices land at the rear of 152 Toms Lane. The notice requires that all importation of waste material ceases and that material already brought onto the site is removed. It also requires that all motor vehicles not used solely for agriculture/horse keeping be removed from the land and the land returned to rough pasture.

The second notice requires the breeze block structure to be demolished and the materials removed from the land.

The notices take effect on 1 October 2007 and there are a maximum of 42 days allowed in which to comply. However the landowners can still appeal against the council's decision.

Cllr Joy Mann, who pressed for action to be taken, said "I am glad that the council has taken this action and hope that they will follow through to ensure the clean-up of the land".
