New gate prevents nuisance access to Country Park

Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst at the new gate in Linnet Road

Action from your local LibDem team has led to this new gate limiting access to the Country Park

After action from Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst, a new gate & barrier has been installed at the end of Linnet Road, to prevent bikes cutting across the grass into the Country Park.

The new position of the barrier and gate was recommended by the police and means that he YMCA now only have to open the gate for large deliveries as their vehicles can drive out without having to open the gate. Previously there was a problem with the gate being left open.

The gate is currently padlocked, pending a new automated lock being installed. We hope the new gate whilst allowing pushchairs, wheelchairs and pedestrians through will force those using motorbikes etc to dismount
